From the Red Carpet to the Aisle: Steal Katie Holmes's White Lace Nina Ricci Dress

We love how much Hollywood loves a short white lace dress, and Katie Holmes, rocking a long-sleeve Nina Ricci sheer lace shift at ASP World Surf League cocktail party the other day in New York City, is certainly no exception!

The inherently bridal look (lace, after all, is as classic as it comes) was updated with modern ruffle overlays and three-dimensional tulle embellishments, which also added some texture to this otherwise demure long-sleeve sheath. Aside from providing some fresh fashion ideas, this thigh-skimming shift picks up on a few of our favorite recent wedding dress trends: Short hem-lengths (who doesn't love a good LWD), illusion necklines, and, of course, lace.

So, as we do here now and again, we've picked out dresses fresh off the recent bridal runways that emanate a similar edgy elegance as Holmes's.

Marchesa: The dress's classic lace is complemented by a minimalist, straight silhouette, and sheer long sleeves. And like Holmes's Ricci design, this shift takes the high-neck to the next level with an on-trend collar.

YolanCris: For those wanting something more showstopping than this knee-length dress, try a gown like this YolanCris creation. The delicate lace long-sleeve creation is complemented by three-dimensional floral appliqués — just like Holmes's. And while the skirt is definitely longer than the star's, this gown also features a high neck and illusion neckline.

Watters: We'll never get sick of Chantilly lace, especially on this polished edition of Holmes's knee-length number. A bit more form-fitting, this Watters look hits the same style notes with a more refined finish.

Vera Wang: Boho brides will love this floor-length interpretation of Holmes's mini shift. It's just as sheer and whimsical but the extra-long sleeves and slinky shape are made for the more offbeat, fashion-forward bride.
