What should I wear to the party

For those occasions panic you think of an invitation , what should I wear . Not all parties are created equal - time host and event must be considered when choosing the outfit. Here are some common events and the suggested attire for these occasions ( in descending order of formality ) :
White tie or Cravate Blanche Dress Code
The formals of evening wear. Very few of us ever need to dress at this level so . State Dinner , diplomatic functions and very formal charity balls .
Women : Elaborate prom dresses, upswept hair , long gloves , tiaras even be worn.
Men : tuxedo black , white evening waistcoat, white bow tie .
Black tie or evening dress dress code
Weddings , gala dinners , charity balls , premieres
Women : Floor-length evening gown. Sophisticated and elegant . No deep cutouts or slots daredevil .
Gentlemen : Tuxedo / Smoking / Smoking in black or white. A fly front or frilly dress shirt with white or red silk handkerchief in the pocket , cuff links . A cummerbund around the area where the shirt is in the pants cover . Black fly .
Ethnic dress is also appropriate.

Men : Dark suit by mid- tone , color, or white collared shirt and tie. Shirts and ties can be a print textured , have a shee or in color.
